Dubai, Part 7 - City Big Bus Tour

In the afternoon Joanna and I took a ride on Dubai's big bus tour, an open-top double-decker bus that took us all around the city. It was a lot of fun, but can you say HOT?!?! We rode on the top, where there was a tarp covering us, but no windows or air conditioning. It wasn't so bad when the bus was moving, but when we sat still for any length of time, it was almost unbearable!

The bus tour took us all over the city, showing us landmarks like Wafi City with its pyramid building, the Burj Dubai (which will be the tallest skyscraper in the world when it is finished), the Dubai Creek, and the souks (market-type shops selling all sorts of souvenirs). It was a great way to see the city, though I would certainly recommend waiting to do this tour until the cooler months.

The bus tour included admission to the Dubai Museum, and we definitely took advantage of their air conditioning. The museum gave a history of the city of Dubai, and it was actually quite interesting. But I will admit the best part was the cool air.
